The Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East (FRRME)
FRRME is a Christian NGO that feeds and shelters persecuted Iraqi Christians and other minorities. We work primarily in the semi-autonomous region of Iraqi Kurdistan in the north east of Iraq where we are feeding thousands of internally displaced people in camps set up by the United Nations. We also fully fund a free health clinic at St George's Church in Baghdad which treats 80 -100 people of all faiths every day.
In Jordan, we are looking after 700 Christian families who have fled their homes in Mosul and the Nineveh Plain, the ancestral home of Christians in Iraq. Alongside these vital food relief and medical projects, we are supporting a kindergarten in Erbil which caters for 130 Christian children, an autism centre in Kirkuk, and a girls school in Harsham Camp in Erbil.
The food packages we distribute in IDP camps and to families living in church compounds cost £16 and comprise of
oil, tea, tomato paste, white rice, brown rice, lentils, sugar, milk, tea, salt, and white beans. A typical food package is enough to feed a family of 6 people for a month.
Please pray that:
· FRRME will continue in its vital work feeding the displaced and dispossessed in Iraq and Jordan.
· Pray for an end to the sectarian violence in Iraq and the Middle East.
· Pray that there is reconciliation between the warring factions in Iraq.
· Pray that the persecuted Iraqi Christians in our care remain strong in their faith and do not lose hope.
